VACUUMSCHMELZE´s World Headquarter and key production facility is located in Hanau, Germany. This location is VAC's R&D and Engineering center and has about 1500 employees. The melting of alloys takes place in Hanau, which is the beginning stage of the manufacturing process for a majority of our products.
VACUUMSCHMELZE early began to transfer labor-intensive manufacturing processes to more cost-effective countries. Since the 1980's VAC has maintained production facilities in Asia. As a result of this transfer of manufacturing, today VAC has a well-established production network in Europe and Asia, which is optimized and best-suited for each product group.

VAC China (VACUUMSCHMELZE China Magnetics)
VAC operates 3 Sales offices in China: Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. The Shanghai location as the main Sales office manages all Sales, Application Engineering and Customer Service activities in China.
In the production plant in Shenyang VACUUMSCHMELZE manufactures Toroidal Tape Wound Cores, inductive components and assemblies for telecommunications and installation technology.
With its partner San Huan VAC is operating the joint venture SANVAC dedicated to the production Neodymium-Iron-Boron Magnets in Beijing.
VACUUMSCHMELZE’s range of products comprises a broad array of advanced semi-finished materials and parts, inductive components for the electronics, magnets and magnet systems for use in a wide variety of fields and industries spanning watch-making and medical technology, renewable energies, shipbuilding, automotive and aviation.
VAC´s Product range:
- Materials & Parts
All VAC alloys are melted in the Materials and Parts division: soft magnetic materials, permanent magnets, magnetic semi-hard materials and alloys with special non-magnetic properties. Today more than a hundred different high-quality crystalline, amorphous and nanocrystalline materials are manufactured.
- Cores & Components
VAC´s Chokes, Transformers, Current Sensors and Cores are mainly used in the Drive Technology, Automotive & Transportation as well as Energy Meter & Energy Conversion applications.
- Permanent Magnets & Magnet Systems
Since 1973 VAC has been producing sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnets from SmCo and NdFeB. VAC is the European market leader in Permanent Magents.
