Marquardt Group Solidifies Role as International Innovation Leader

The Marquardt Group is a worldwide leading manufacturer of electromechanical and electronic switches and switch systems for automotive, power tools, home appliances and other industrial applications.  The Swabian family industry, headquartered in Rietheim-Weilheim, has won increased market share in the fiscal year 2011, thereby solidifying its role as a worldwide innovative leader.

As a supplier and system partner of a wide variety of industries and with production facilities in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, Marquardt continues to grow.  Deciding factors of its success are the ongoing innovations.  In order to maintain its competitive edge internationally, Marquardt invests about 10 percent of the profits into the research and development of new products.  These investments pay for themselves.  No other manufacturer compares to the depth and breadth of the product program – from appliances, snap and electric power tool switches, to the complex operating fields and driver authorization systems.

With the market introduction of intelligent driver authorization systems and a theft security system never before offered (and used) in cars like Mercedes, Maybach, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Chrysler, Marquardt has quickly made a name for itself in the automotive industry.  Over 10 million of these systems have already been sold to date.

In the field of electrical power tool switches, Marquardt has been a world market leader for many years.  There are very few manufacturers of electrical power tools that do not have at least one of the series of switches built into their tools.

Marquardt plans to grow even further in 2012.  To start with, a factory in Mexico will be established to support the North American market.  The new construction in Iraputo, located in the state of Guananjuato, will officially open in the fall.
