The candidate will take the main responsibility for project implementation (time/cost/quality) for Smart Manufacturing System projects in the order-to-cash project phase.

Key areas of responsibility include:

-    Being the leading contact for customers and subsidiaries in the implementation phase of assigned system projects (1-3 projects at a given time)


-    Organize the hand-over meeting to arrange a structured transfer of project responsibility from the Technical Sales Manager/Technical Sales Engineer


-    Checking the handed over specifications for completeness, plausibility and quality and release offers


-    Establishment/verification and securing of an overall project plan with all trades / subprojects (schedule and needed resources from R&D, installation…)

-    Project management, e.g. for import logistics, appointment coordination with customer and other involved trades, esp. installation preparation meetings and installation kickoff etc.


-    Equipment planning for customer deployments, communication to customer and checking if necessary HW is on site (together with Installation coordinator)


-    Escalation and risk management


-    Take Change Request and communicate to Technical Sales for evaluation


-    Ensuring the customer acceptance as well as documentation of open points with appropriate measures

-    Ongoing monitoring of the project schedule, budget and quality standards based on process milestones


-    For projects with customization content: Support communication between Technical Sales and R&D to ensure a customer-focused solution and manage implementation risks (request-to-order project phase)

Other tasks:

-    Work with department management to build up and continuously optimize professional project management processes and tools along the project life-cycle

-    Take responsibility for internal projects for topics related to Smart Manufacturing Systems (e.g. organizational development, further technology extension) when capacity situation allows



1.Academic Background:

Diplom/Master degree from International or top Chinese University

2.Which major preferred:

Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Business Management or similar

3.Working experience:

3-8 years of working experience with at least 2 years in project management. Experience in Industry 4.0/Smart Manufacturing is a strong plus


4.Knowledge and skills:

- High level of organizational skills and ability to oversee complex project situations

- Good judgement to evaluate customer requirements vs. technical feasibility and work with management to come to sound decisions based on the analysis

- Good understanding about professional project management tools and methods, able to carefully follow project schedule, implement cost- as well as quality management

- Experience with production technology (hardware/software) and business processes

- Ability to balance between a strong customer orientation and sound judgement to limit implementation risks when negotiating projects

- Strong analytical skills and structured problem solving

- High level of oral and written communication skills

- Initial track record for influencing skills towards senior customer representatives, HQ teams, and local sales/service/R&D organizations



Native Chinese and fluent English, German is a strong plus
