Scope, objective and relevance of position

  1. Definition and development ofe customer trends market research requirements for Brand Volkswagen China to gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese customers and ensure implementation of results for portfolio / product / segment and platform strategies to ensure VW brand product concept fit, proper product positioning and offer structure in the market
  2. Deliver tailored Chinese automotive customers and societal trends analysis to top management, project teams and relevant functional departments to ensure product fit to customer needs
  3. Efficient, competitive and customer oriented NCBS / Customer insights and Market Research for portfolio management, product marketing projects, NEV Strategy and modular topics by analyzing and market and competitive requirements, consumer insights and demands as well as proposing business opportunities.
  4. Centralized efficient interdisciplinary NCBS / Customer insights and Market Research project management, building up knowledge and know-how transfer leveraging synergies; steering of and negotiating with internal and external counterparts (VGC, JV, HQ, external agency) to assert implementation of China market requirements and ensure timely PEP input or for decision in respective committees.

Qualification and skills

Professional experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of product strategy and marketing experience, with 1+ years in the automotive sector
  • Professional market research, customer research and product research knowledge and experience
  • Understanding of sociology and psychology
  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of automotive engineering and automotive industry
  • Experience in Chinese automotive market, Joint Venture steering
  • Professional work experiences in relevant field as data management, business analysis and/or research analysis
  • University degree Bachelor (Master/MBA advantageous): business, economics, marketing and sales, business management or similar, industrial engineering
  • Preferred subject major in automotive management or automotive engineering
