Objectives of the Position

•Graduated engineering specialist for Mercedes-Benz development and localization in CHN

•Coordination and realization work for localization of Daimler passenger cars (MFA & MRA)

•Develop interior parts together with local suppliers in China, verify results in collaboration with R&D headquarter in Germany and in own vehicle testing programs

•Support change management of interior parts of MB passenger cars, and assure the parts maturity & deliveries for each milestone.


Task description

•Main task is to integrate in our cross-functional team which forms an interface between our German headquarter of research and development, local suppliers and the Beijing-Benz plant. Your diverse tasks and responsibilities include the following:

-Developing china specific parts, manage part localization projects and suppliers from design-freeze to part release with handover to series production.

-Evaluate and verify supplier results and part maturity. Ensure part readiness.

-Assist pilot runs, tryouts and series productions of Mercedes-Benz cars at the production plant with technical support and profound knowledge.

-Support of the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for our current (A-, C-, E-, GLC- class), future (e.g. MFA and electric vehicle) Mercedes-Benz projects in China.

-Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules.

-Fulfill requirements of homogenization processes and introduce new parts successfully to the Chinese market.


Qualification required


-University degree in mechanical or automotive engineering


-Graduates with first experience in automotive industry (e.g. internships) as well as applicants with minimum 2-3 years’ work experience at OEMs or suppliers

-Experience on Interior cockpit or center console parts’ development/production will be beneficial

•Specific Knowledge

-Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German language beneficial

-Computer skills mandatory, including Windows, Office, CAD (NX is preferred)

-Self-responsible working attitude and initiative

-Intercultural competence and communication skills with cross function groups

-Strong planning and organizational skills

-High commitment for automobiles

-Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches at suppliers
