The role is leading the HV battery series development. The focus of the role are field-/customer and plant quality issues as well as the management of all HV battery related changes after the SOP. The role requires close cooperation with suppliers and process partners at BBA and BMW AG. Target is to ensure the EKGQ requirements focussing on the quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and managing of HV battery development after SOP

• Managing in the problem management process (PMP) in the role of solution responsible (LV) for concept or design relevant issues. Responsible for tracking HV battery related PQM status according to PMP and make statistics report

• Manage of problem analysis activities for field quality and design issues of the HV battery within the failure analysis team (FAT). Including alignment and status tracking with the overall quality responsible China and FAT at BMW

• Steering and support of problem analysis activities for plant quality and design issues of the HV battery. Including alignment and status tracking with quality team and production team in powertrain and vehicle plant

• Support relevant module teams after the SOP of the battery and vehicle reagrding organization and managing of HVB SB/WE topics

• Take responsibility of field data research for failure analysis, customer behavior, development topics with real time monitor (RTM) and FASTA data

• Responsible for organizing production data and analysis with the plant for problem solving, e.g. check the cut-in date & confirm failure rate

• Responsible for creating aftersales relevant documents delivery and management, e.g. storage guideline, module maintenace guideline & user manual

• Manage HVB related change management together with supplier, technical CoCs and purchaising, e.g. gAMS,NAEL, BAW creation and status tracking

• Alignment with the management team in Munich (e.g. EA-4x, Lx-5), HV battery development project team in Munich and Shenyang as well as the supplier(s) project team(s)

• Managing of existing and new requirements on HV battery pack level together with supplier experts and technical CoCs as well as purchasing, controlling and vehicle project team at BBA and BMW

• Managing of projects risks and chances concerning schedule, component performance, quality and weight together with the project team

• Take over operational topics e.g. purchase HV battery or E/E parts from plant or from supplier for SB/WE testings, align with counter parts regarding regarding HVB disassembly or transportation

• Take responsibility as key user of SB/WE relevant IT tools e.g. PQM, RTM, FASTA, FBM-Viewer

• Managing the project meetings (target, participants, agenda, minutes) with internal and external project partners and tracking the assigned tasks according to the due dates

3. Scope of Communication / Negotiation



• Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in electrical / electronic engineering, electrical power engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, business engineering, physics or related majors

• strong project management and planning skills

• quality focused, target oriented, self-responsible and reliable working attitude and initiative

• analytic and working method, also during work under pressure

• ability to prepare working results like reports and presentations in clear and precise way

• ability to integrate internal and external project and process partners

• very good communication skills and customer orientation

• languages skills: English business fluent

• good knowledge in Microsoft office and project management tools

• functional understanding of hybrid functions, electric vehicles and HV batteries

• process understanding of component development projects in the automotive industry

• knowledge in measurement and CAN communication tools (INCA, CANalyzer,…)

• knowledge in quality management and problem solving methods (e.g. 8D, 5why, Fishbone, PPAP... )

• willingness to frequent travelling inside China and extented trips to Munich (4 to 12 weeks)

• excitement for new energy vehicles and testing operations

• working experience in project management for component development in the automotive industry 4-6 Years

• working experience as engineer in software development, function development, electric/electronics, mechanical design, product validation or calibration 1-3 Years

• optional: working experiences with control unit, bus communication and vehicle functional structure 1-3 Years

• working experience with high voltage systems like HV batteries and E-motors, electric energy converters and bus communication 1-3 Years

• international experience based on working overseas or working for a foreign company in China incl. frequent business trips out of China 1-3 Years
