The GROB Group is an internationally operating family company with its headquarters in Mindelheim/Germany, three production facilities in São Paulo/Brazil, Bluffton/USA and Dalian/PR of China and eight sales and service branches in South Korea, PR of China, India, Moscow, United Kingdom, Hungary and Mexico.
The GROB Group generates worldwide revenue of 960 million euros (2013) with a workforce of about 4,500 employees.
The product portfolio ranges from the universal machining center all the way through to highly complex production systems with individual automation, and from ancillary assembly machines in the machining process through to fully automated assembly lines.

The success story for GROB in China started in the late 1980s. At the start of the 1990s, the initial orders were handled by the Chinese joint venture partners of western automobile manufacturers. The first direct order with a Chinese partner, outside of a joint venture project, was completed in 2002. Soon after, in April 2003, a new era in GROB's Asian business began with the founding of GROB Machine Tools (Beijing) Co. Ltd. Two years later, the GROB Shanghai branch was set up with a 1000 m² workshop facility and seven service employees.
Currently a total of 35 employees work at China’s GROB branches in Beijing and Shanghai, achieving about 4 million euros in sales. Today GROB China, with its two branches and a manufacturing plant in Dalian with 380 employees, serves about 75 percent of the Chinese automotive industry, and so together with the GROB Group has grown into one of the most reputable suppliers of machine tools in the People’s Republic of China.

Production system solutions
Our know-how in designing production systems combined with state-of-the-art technology, enables Grob to offer solutions for high volume production. Those solutions are individually designed to meet the specific customer needs. The production systems mainly consists of modular machining centers and special-purpose machines, interlinked with the latest automation solutions.
Universal machining centers
The universal machining centers G350, G550 and G750 successfully complement the G-series and open up an even larger application range for the existing G-modules. As all modules from the G-series, they originate from the same modular construction system, are characterized by their compact design and enable excellent visibility and best accessibility to the work areas.
The GROB universal machining centers are used in a wide range of different industries. From machining complex and high precision mould and prototype parts with compound angled surfaces and holes, aircraft and medical parts with partly 5-axis simultaneous machining and in the optoelectronics industry, through to the pure contract manufacturers, who want to be equipped for any tasks.
Assembly lines
In the field of assembly technology, GROB has years of expertise in the design of assembly lines. All assembly stations or assembly lines are special constructions individually planned, built and designed in accordance with customer specific requirements. Typical assembly component groups are engines and cylinder heads as well as automatic and manual transmissions for cars and trucks in medium and large quantities.
